A. Active Learning & Learner Engagement
1. Increased interactive & applied teaching in the classroom. To increase bridging between theoretical content and application, and facilitating active learning in the classroom --> 3hrs of contact time for face-to-face learners will remain where workshop materials are integrated into classroom teaching. 2. Higher quality of engagement with Distance Learners --> 6 video-based workshops that will replace online forums. 3. Capturing engagement of learners in assessments. To encourage and facilitate greater contact of students with teaching staff and learning material --> 10% of paper assessment through engagement at video-based workshops (for DL) and classes (for F2F). B. Better Capture of Learning Objectives & Two-way Feedback in Assessments 1. Enhancement of assignments used in assessing learning to better capture learning objectives, and to increase feedback opportunities to students à increased to 60% of assessment . 2. Redundancy of final exam due to over-assessment and lack of feedback opportunities. To move towards newer methods of teaching that relies less on a one-off essay for assessment and more inline with the application of human development that students will experience in their lives (that will be captured in their assessed assignments) à to remove final exam Applying Human Development in Our World Today |
